Week 29 Capsule Wardrobes and Personal Style with Missy Titus

Congratulations, mama and welcome to week 29!

With only 11 more weeks to go your baby is around 15 to 16 inches long and weighs 2 1/2 to nearly 3 pounds. Somewhere around the size of a head of cauliflower. Baby's wrinkled skin is starting to smooth out as more fat is deposited under the surface of her skin.

Your doctor may have you start doing kick counts throughout the day. This is just to make sure that your baby is still active regularly and that nothing has changed inside your womb.

The third trimester is arguably the least glamorous of the trimesters. Between weight gain and not being able to see your feet anymore, to constipation, to the overall uncomfortable feeling of largeness you're experiencing, you can also expect varicose veins to make an appearance. Now, these varicose veins are swollen blood vessels and can be very painful or barely a bother. They’re caused by the increased blood volume coursing through your body mixed with The added pressure of your growing uterus putting pressure on your pelvic veins as well as hormones which make your veins relax.

The good news is you can try to prevent them by making this sure you don’t stand or sit for too long and try to get in some exercise each day even if it’s just a 10 minute walk. You can also try special support socks or pantyhose that are specially made for preventing varicose veins. The other good news is that the majority of the time varicose veins will recede a few months after pregnancy.

Your tip for the week from whattoexpect.com is to start stocking up on breast pads. As your pregnancy progresses your breasts can leak colostrum which is the fluid that proceeds your breast milk. To avoid the embarrassment of a wet shirt make sure that you’re putting a breast pad in your bra to prevent the signs of leaks.
